Point of Departure was established in 2006 by Jason Maune and Dan Smith as a collaborative design studio with more than 20 years combined experience – and a passion for people, spaces and modern design.

Good design is more than creating beautiful buildings, jaw-dropping interiors or spectacular furnishings. We think it’s the most powerful form of art – inspiring, motivating, providing comfort and changing people’s lives. We believe that green design is a given rather than an option. We believe in doing our homework, getting our hands dirty, finishing our projects. And that working tight – closely, with the right people, in a disciplined approach - is what makes a project sing.

That means that while delivering a dynamite final project is our ultimate goal, we’re just as passionate about the part of design less talked-about: The process.

We work with our clients, not just for them. We listen, take the extra time to discover what you're looking for, and make sure you, your project and our studio are a good fit.
